Bong-Ra

Label: Debemur Morti Productions

Bong-Ra is the project of Dutch composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jason Köhnen, merging industrial metal, breakcore and doomjazz. A pioneering figure in extreme electronic music since the mid-1990s, Köhnen draws on a background in Celestial Season and a parallel career with The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble and The Lovecraft Sextet.

Following the doom and dark jazz explorations of Antediluvian and Meditations, Black Noise (2025) introduced a renewed industrial metal focus through Debemur Morti Productions. Live, Bong-Ra operates as a three-piece with guitarists Attila Kovács and Botond Fogl.

The latest album, Esoterik (2026), expands this direction through five extended compositions, combining mechanical rhythms, heavy guitars and cinematic horn textures with a dark, ritualistic atmosphere.
